Plungers are depressed when you insert the turner arm through the holder and silicone balls lock the holder firmly inside the tumbler. This holder comes in two sizes for the 30 or 20oz Modern Curve tumblers. This version is gasket-less.  This holder does not fit Modern Curve 2.0 tumblers.
